She sang her first Hindi Song "Mata Ek Sapoot Ki Duniya Badal De Tu" for the Marathi film Gajaabhaau in 1943. The Hindi Song featuring Madhubala, "Aayega Aanewaala," a song from the movie Mahal released in 1949 was one of her first major hits.
